I got out of the house for the first time in days.

My dog was licking the inside of a potty chair.

That the bowl was empty!

Potty training is still happening. There are improvements, very small improvements. Not sure if we are making any headway in the way of actually training them to use the potty when they need to, or if we are just sending them to the potty so often that they don't have anything left to pee in their underwear.

It was tiring the first day and it is getting older each day that passes. Jax makes a pout/half crying face when I tell him it is time to sit on the potty and I just don't know how to fix it. They really aren't phased by wet underwear yet either (unless it is a huge pee) but Wyatt is seriously motivated by M&M's for going on his own.

With three full days down, I am not backing off. We will see this through and stick to it. I really have nothing positive to say about this, so any help or hints to make potty training even a tiny bit easier are welcome.

I was going to suggest the m&m's. Honestly in my experience of potty training two kids, when they are ready it is easy. Of course showing them what to do is important so we did the potty before bath time to introduce them but as far as making them go on the potty every hour and having to change them 4 or more times a day, that is what I went through when they were NOT ready. It was stressful on me and made them resist even more. If they can't go more than an hour without going potty, they aren't ready. Just my experience. I really hope things get better, I know it is a stressful time.

The only advice I can offer is if they really don't get it after 3-5 days consider backing down and trying again in a couple of months. Think of this in the overall scheme of life. Will they go to college in diapers? NO. Will the world end if they are not potty trained this month? NO. I tried potty training mine before they were 3. It was a no go. I backed down and don't regret it at all. It was way too stressful for everyone. I tried again around their 3rd birthday. Charlie got it right away. Brian wasn't getting it so again I backed down and waited a couple of months.

I guess my point is - if it is becomming painful - stop and give everyone a break. Life won't end if they are not potty trained this week and I promise they won't go to school in diapers!

Thank you both for your suggestions. We were talking last night decided we are trying to control it too much.
Today (it is only 10 am, lol) I am making an effort not to tell them to go so much -so I can see if THEY are ready. And all seems to be going well. We will see how the rest of the day goes.
